Erica Ash is an award-winning actress with notable stage, film, and television achievements. Her acting credits include playing Bessie Lee in “The Outlaw Johnny Black,” Melanie Presley in “We Have a Ghost,” M-Chuck Calloway in the Starz hit comedy “Survivor’s REMORSE” for which she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the NAACP Image Award, and Reesa in “Unthinkably Good Things,” which won the Gracie Award for Best Movie on Television.
Ash has also taken on significant roles in television, leading BET’s legal drama “IN CONTEMPT” as Gwen Sullivan and appearing in recurring roles on HBO’s “A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW,” Netflix’s “FAMILY REUNION,” Kevin Hart’s hit series “THE REAL HUSBANDS OF HOLLYWOOD,” and CW’s “LEGACIES.” She starred opposite Olivia Munn in Justine Batman’s film “VIOLET” and currently stars opposite Paula Patton in the BET+ series “SACRIFICE.”
Her journey in entertainment began on stage with Broadway productions such as, “LION KING,” where she starred as Nala, “SPAMALOT” as the Lady of the Lake, and the original Broadway cast of “BABY IT’S YOU” as Addie “Micki” Harris and Dionne Warwick, earning her an NAACP Theater Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In addition to acting, Ash enjoys producing, writing, and philanthropy, dedicating her time and resources to organizations such as Step Up, The Rape Foundation, L.A. Speech and Learning, and Art Melanated. She believes in the power of performing arts as a bridge to communication and healing, which led her to make a significant career shift from medicine to the arts.
