Monique Ammons is an energic and inspiring fitness instructor who brings more than just physical training to her classes. Born and raised in Texas, Monique is a proud alumna of Texas Southern University, where she majored in Criminal Justice. However, her true passion lies in fitness and wellness, a journey that began in her childhood. Monique fondly recalls attending aerobics classes with her mother at the Judson Robinson Community Center, where Mrs. Gretchen’s sessions became a cherished weekly routine. This early fitness exposure shaped her physical discipline and forged an unbreakable bond with her mother.
Tragically, Monique’s world was turned upside down in 2014 when her mother was murdered. Stricken with grief, she withdrew from the world, neglecting her health and fitness. It was a wake-up call from her daughter and the persistent encouragement from Mrs. Gretchen that reignited Monique’s passion for fitness. She returned to aerobics with renewed vigor, feeling her mother’s presence in every step. This transformative experience led her to obtain a certification to teach fitness, and she now shares her love for wellness at Antanique Landry’s gym. Monique’s journey is a testament to resilience and the power of self-love.
