Howard “H” White is a man who has lived a life filled with achievement and success, both on and off the basketball court. He started his career as a professional athlete, playing in the NBA for the Kansas City Kings and the San Antonio Spurs. However, his move into the corporate world truly defined his legacy. Today, he is known as one of the most influential executives at Nike, where he has worked for over 35 years.

White’s journey to the top of Nike’s executive team was not easy. Born and raised in a small town in Louisiana, he attended high school in New Jersey, where he quickly became a standout basketball player. He went on to play college basketball at the University of Maryland, where he was a member of the 1974 team that made it to the NCAA finals. After college, he was drafted by the Kansas City Kings, where he played for two seasons before being traded to the San Antonio Spurs.

Despite his success on the court, White knew he wanted to explore other opportunities beyond basketball. In 1980, he took a chance and joined Nike as a sales representative. White quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Vice President and General Manager of Jordan Brand. He played a key role in developing the iconic Air Jordan line of sneakers.

White’s contributions to Nike have been significant, but his commitment to philanthropy truly sets him apart. He founded the H.O.P.E. Foundation (Helping Other People Excel) in 1989, which provides scholarships to underprivileged students in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. White also co-founded the Jordan Wings Program, a non-profit organization that provides academic and athletic opportunities for underserved youth in the United States. The program has helped to inspire and empower thousands of young people, providing them with the resources and support they need to achieve their goals.

White is also a popular motivational speaker who has shared his story and insights with audiences worldwide. He has published several books, including “Believe to Achieve: See the Invisible, Do the Impossible,” which outlines his philosophy for success in business and life. As he continues to make a difference in the world, he reminds us of the importance of pursuing our passions and using our success to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
