Vaughn Crowe is a Managing Partner at Newark Venture Partners. Before joining Newark Venture Partners, Vaughn served as Managing Director at Wesray Social Investments, the investment arm of Ray Chambers’ family office. While at Wesray Social, Vaughn led direct and LP investments and served on a three-person investment committee, where he worked with companies at every stage, including seed, series A, growth, and buyout. In addition to his investment responsibilities, Vaughn served as Executive Chairman of a portfolio company, under his leadership, experienced the most profitable year in the company’s 55-year history.

Vaughn was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He attended Wequahic High School and then attended Colgate University, where he earned a BA in Political Science with a minor in African American Studies. Vaughn currently serves as Vice-Chair of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, an RWJ Barnabas Hospital, and New Jersey State Investment Council, the governing structure for the State’s $80b+ pension assets. In addition, he serves as Chairman of Princess House Inc., a consumer products company, and sits on the board of Blue Note Restaurant Group.
